The Bad Dad Orchestra

Big grooves, stabbing horn lines and catchy as hell vocals, THE BAD DAD ORCHESTRA bring the classic sounds of Australian pub-rock with a modern twist, and their unique brand of soul.

Formed in 2015, THE BAD DAD ORCHESTRA presents a nine-piece partnership of fatherhood and friendship.  Their driving rhythm section, guitars, keys and a three-piece horn-section deliver a unique yet familiar sound behind the front-man Jimi Steele.

Their energising sounds and live shows have seen THE BAD DAD ORCHESTRA appear at numerous state and National festivals, including the 2021 Caloundra Music Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, Queenscliff Music Festival (2022) and tours throughout eastern Australia. 

All good things come from Tasmania.  With SOLD OUT shows and more festival bookings ahead, these nine DADS show no signs of slowing anytime soon.  It’s big, it’s bad and it’s DAD!!
