A review of Christina’s ‘Midnight Train’ album describes her as ‘Lucinda Williams meets Rory Gallagher down under’ (Ron from Rootstime) and it is considered by many to be a fitting description. Perhaps this is evidence of the variety of influences, which have shaped her musical direction, having been raised in a household, which enjoyed music of all styles and flavours ranging from country, rock & blues through to classical.
In her early teenage years the passion to play guitar was emerging and after moving to Sydney where she commenced guitar lessons from Stephen Crofts (guitarist with ‘The Bombers’, ‘Black Cat Moan’) she began auditioning and performing in various bands around Sydney, later forming her own rock / blues outfit ‘Croftstown Traffic’ which later became ‘Croftstown’ with the addition of Steve also playing guitar in the band. They released a CD in 2006 ‘Croftstown’ “Unboogie” and in 2008 Christina released her first solo CD ‘Midnight Train’.
An engaging performer, Christina is recognised among her peers and fans alike as a talented lead & slide guitarist, with a distinctive sound and style. She has performed on several festivals including Thredbo Blues Festival, Narooma, Bimbadgen, Mitchell Creek Rock & Blues Festival and is currently preparing the release of her latest recording ‘Breakaway’.
