Matt The Rumble & The ‘Tremolomen are named after the unmistakable tremolo effect from the 50’s. They play a mix of Blues, Soul-Jazz, Instrumentals & Wild Guitar, delivered with blistering vintage tone & entertaining showmanship.

The Tremolomen play an eclectic feel-good repertoire including tunes by Kenny Burrell, Freddie King, Johnny Guitar Watson, Santo & Johnny, Jimmy Smith, the Shadows, Jimmy Reed, Dick Dale, Booker T & the MGs & a healthy dash of original classics.

Matt has played long stints with many iconic Australian groups, including The Hippos, Continental Blues Party with Robert Susz, Unity Jazz Band, Ray Beadle & many of the best musos in town.

He has toured with & backed many international stars including Denny Freeman (Stevie Ray/ Jimmie Vaughan, Bob Dylan), Johnnie Johnson (Chuck Berry), ‘Kid Bangham’ of ‘The Fabulous Thunderbirds’, honking rhythm & blues Saxophonist Big Jay McNeely, & the recently departed Arkansas country star ‘Sleepy LaBeef’, to name a few.

He earned the moniker ‘The Rumble’ after forming a gritty Link Wray instrumental surf band, named ‘The Rumble’!
